The Highways England Regional Traffic Models (RTM) programme involved building five traffic models covering the entirety of England. The approximate geographical coverage of each of the regional models is shown in Figure 1. The models are SATURN highway models supported by DIADEM, which are run using a bespoke interface HEIDI (Highways England Integrated DIADEM Interface). Highways England is now looking to set up work packages to: - Maintain the Regional Traffic Models to ensure their continued applicability over the -2020/21 financial year; and - Undertake ad-hoc transport modelling services using the Regional Traffic Models over the same period.
