The scope of the contract is to design, manufacture, supply, test, deliver, subject to a performance specification a focusing toroidal mirror optic for the DLS Beamline B21. The toroidal mirror optic will be manufactured from a single crystal silicon block along the length of which a toroidal groove of specified width and radius is to be ground and polished into the flat top face. The inside of the toroidal groove will be coated with rhodium to increase the reflectivity. The surrounding area of the top surface will also be coated with rhodium to provide a conductive surface for the installation of temperature sensors.
