Birmingham City Council awarded a three year contract for the Private Sector Leasing Scheme which will expire on the 22nd December 2016. Under the Scheme, private-sector landlords will make available up to 630 furnished properties of between one and six bedrooms for use as temporary accommodation for the homeless. This is through one of two ways: 1. Enter into three-year block contracts for specific properties and when required the potential of a further mini competition to extend the block contract. 2.
