This commission is part of a Market Town Regeneration Scheme that Central Bedfordshire Council set aside £4M for in September 2015. Local Town Councils were invited to put forward bids and in April 2016. Sandy Town Council became one of eight successful applicants and their bid included a scheme to lead a mosaic trail across three market towns. Sandy Town Council seeks a specialist professional mosaic artist to deliver nine mosaics as an historic trail through three towns.
