There are currently three Secure Training Centres (STCs) in England which provide Youth Detention Accommodation. They are privately operated centres that accommodate younger and/or more vulnerable boys, girls and young mothers between the ages of 12-17. The existing contracts for Medway and Rainsbrook STCs are due to expire in the first half of 2016. The contracts relevant to this notice have been put in place by the Authority to continue the provision of Youth Detention Accommodation beyond the current contracts.
