Leadership & Management Apprenticeships In May 2017 the government introduced the Apprenticeship Levy for all employers with an annual pay bill of over £3 million. English Heritage is an Apprenticeship Levy paying employer, and the levy is charged at the equivalent to 0.5% of our pay bill each year. We are a connected charity to the public sector organisation, Historic England and are currently also subject to a shared apprenticeship public sector target, and 2.3% of our workforce must be annual apprenticeship starts, which we are working towards.
