"We have around 1000 people in Area operations field teams who are organised within 14 areas. These people play a vital role in: • providing 24/7 response to flooding and pollution incidents; • maintaining our flood defence structures; • carrying out minor construction work; Our training programme carries seasonal constraints primarily due to the environment. The purpose of this contract is to have a workforce that is: • Competent, safe and fully trained to a professional standard. • trained to a consistent standard to support the flexibility we need to move resources around the country for incident response.
