The project was instigated to address regulatory requirements and recommendations that followed the Grenfell fire tragedy. A range of framework providers were approached regarding potential frameworks. However some potential frameworks were not fire specific and listed suppliers were not a good fit for our requirements or were unable to meet the University's mandatory requirement for inspectors to hold a Diploma in Fire Doors and/or Diploma in Fire Stopping Inspection.
