Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) build and operate networks to best meet customer needs using the most efficient and flexible techniques possible. To do this, we have introduced Flexibility to help manage our network in the optimal way. The primary use case for Flexibility Services has been the economically efficient deferral of network reinforcements to manage thermal constraints. A Stability Service is a different kind of Flexibility Service that does not fall under the typical standard flexibility services as it provides network stability as opposed to managing a thermally overloaded network asset.
