The UK MOD has committed to the procurement of 22 A400M Tactical Air Transport aircraft from Airbus Defence and Space (AD&S). To defend the A400M from hostile missile attack, the A400M is equipped with a number of Countermeasure Dispenser Modules (CDMs), which is part of the Expendable Dispensing System (EDS), and mounted at strategic positions on the aircraft. In order to realize the training potential of the CDM Trainer, CDMs at a minimum of 2 heights are required to replicate the 2 extremes that will be encountered on the live aircraft.
