In May 2015 the Authority launched “West Suffolk Solar for Business”, a commercial rent-a-roof solar photovoltaic scheme aimed at small and medium sized enterprises primarily based in West Suffolk. The scheme is open to small and medium sized enterprises as well as not-for-profit organisations. Eligible businesses will host solar PV installations funded by the Authority. An air space lease will be drawn up between the Authority as the tenant with the host business being the landlord. Once installed, the installations will remain the property of the Authority for the duration of the lease.
