C-Store is an HR legacy payroll and finance system used within DWP for several years, last operational in 2007. The system is now used in a read only capacity to determine pensionable data for current and past civil servants. In 2018, the original C-Store hardware failed and faced a full data loss. After forensic data recovery the data was extracted and a tactical, interim solution, was developed. In parallel the FAMIS project was underway where a front end reporting solution was developed, providing an opportunity to add the C-Store data into the same reporting system improving end User experience and ensuring GDPR compliance.
