What the buyer wrote

An existing embankment causeway located on the A888 between Morghan and Northbay, Barra has recently collapsed at a section adjacent to the tidal bridge section. Overall condition of the causeway is poor and is regularly subject to flooding during high tidal events. Restraint barriers are also in poor condition and offer no appreciable restraint to vehicle strike. Proposal is to replace the existing approach embankments and culvert with a raised double track section of road and provide a new tidal culvert. The embankment shall be constructed from compacted rockfill with an armour stone outer surround with the new culvert constructed from pre-cast concrete culvert sections and wingwalls.
