The current synthetic surface was laid on the track in 2000. In April 2016 Cornwall Council commissioned a dilapidation survey of Par Athletics track and this survey confirmed that a full resurface would be required. Cornwall Council seeks to appoint a suitably experienced, SAPCA qualified and accredited Principal Contractor to undertake a full replacement of the 400m Running Track as well as, budget permitting, undertake the refurbishment of some of the associated track and field equipment and facilities.
