Birmingham City Council is now seeking application, from suitable organisations, to provide hackney carriage taxi services throughout Birmingham and other locations where needed. The orders placed under this contract will predominantly be for ad-hoc taxi requests for Council Officers / elected members and will include requests for pick-ups at peak times. A recent audit of pick-ups for one month and for one department showed that out of 183 pick-ups 68 were peak time journeys, 63 had a travelling distance of less than 3 miles with the remaining jobs (120) …
