We require an external evaluator to support a programme-level evaluation of the Cultural Destinations programme. Each Cultural Destinations area is required to undertake their own local evaluation of work towards the four aims of the programme. However we have not so far given any specific guidance to standardise evaluations across the programme. We recognise the need for flexibility at the grant level so that evaluations can be useful and used in the local context, but this presents a challenge to a national-level programme evaluation which will require a certain degree of consistency across the evaluations to allow a national picture to be drawn.
