The project was endorsed by a steering group to oversee a wider project with the aim of creating a standard lone working process for all areas of the organisation and assess whether additional measures were required to improve the safety of employees that operate in a lone working environment. As part of this project, a number of requirements and recommendations were realised which included the need for personal safety devices to provide an additional layer of protection to those workers.
