The University of Southampton is home to the Research Software Engineer Network (RSEN), which is funded via the EPSRC. The RSEN was formed in January 2016 to support Research Software Engineer activities in the UK. Thanks to this network grant and the work of the Software Sustainability Institute, the UK has led the world in recognising the importance of Research Software Engineering.
