The unit owns and operates its own decontamination equipment however the building is maintained by the Trusts PFI Partners. In order to ensure that the surgical instruments are fully sterile and processed as required for their next use, the sterilization equipment must undergo regular maintenance, testing and validation to specific standards in order to be deemed safe for use.
