The bridge is a single span road bridge carrying two lanes and two footways over the New River. The span is approximately 8m. The existing bridge deck is a composite construction of metal troughing and with an insitu concrete deck. The parapets are constructed purely in brickwork. It is proposed to replace the entire deck and parapets with new pre-stessed precast concrete beams with an insitu deck.
