The land which surrounds the existing Magnox nuclear power station at Wylfa was listed in the Government's National Policy Statement on nuclear development (NPS) in June 2011 as being deemed suitable for nuclear development ("the Proposed Development Site"). Horizon Nuclear Power is now proposing to build two new Nuclear Reactors adjacent to the existing Wylfa Site (Wylfa Newydd).
