What the buyer wrote
The Class 345 rolling stock units are fitted with an Infrastructure Monitoring System (IMS) which produces real-time infrastructure quality data. This system is a proprietary Hitachi Rail product. TfL has requested Network Rail (NR) to use this data to improve their predictive and reactive infrastructure maintenance to reduce the impact of infrastructure defects which currently account for 10% of all Network Rail of all delay-minutes on the Elizabeth line and hence ~0.13 JTM for the Elizabeth Line. Delivery of this work will provide the additional assurance evidence that will allow NR to adopt IMS across the NR routes over which Elizabeth Line services operate.
